Meet Our Volunteer Amy: Making a Difference, One Family at a Time 💛
At Ronald McDonald House ACT & SE NSW, every act of kindness makes a world of difference, and our volunteers are at the heart of it.
One of our incredible volunteers began their journey with us at just 22 years old, searching for a way to give back and find purpose. What they discovered was far more than volunteering it was a chance to support families during some of the toughest moments of their lives.
From rolling toy cars across the floor for a little girl (and receiving a treasured drawing the next day ) to warmly welcoming families into the Family Room, every interaction brings comfort and reassurance. Each smile, each small act of care, helps families feel supported and less alone.
When asked what advice they’d give to someone thinking about volunteering, their answer was simple:
“Even volunteering once a month can bring a great sense of achievement. You’re keeping a space open that can make lives better for families.”
We are endlessly grateful to all our volunteers for giving their time, energy, and hearts to help families stay close when it matters most. 💕
